Larry Barmat, MD

Dr. Barmat is Board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He serves as Assistant Professor of the Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences Department at Temple University School of Medicine, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jefferson Medical College.
Dr. Barmat has earned the privilege to serve as past President of the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society, previous Board Member of the Philadelphia Obstetrical Society and current Board Member of Temple Medical School Alumni Association. Dr. Barmat is an accomplished Reproductive Endocrinologist, surgeon and scientific researcher. He has developed and conducted extensive research on the use of autologous endometrial coculture (growth of embryos on a layer of the patient’s own uterine lining cells) to improve In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) pregnancy rates. He also is involved in research initiatives such as identifying uterine markers of implantation, exploring the effects of hydrosalpinges on IVF outcome, effectiveness of Robotic reproductive surgery, and principal investigator of numerous IVF clinical trials.
Dr. Barmat has published extensively in the areas of assisted reproduction, fibroids, endometriosis, and has received numerous honors and awards from both local and national medical societies.
